It has been mentioned a couple times by on lookers about being able to see more boards....What do you think? See I am torn, because the last time my boards were open, people were stealing my content ideas. Some would go and make a forum and then If I would post a question, they would post it on thiers, if I made up a contest, they wouldn't be verbatum, mind you but they would use the whole concepts.. which I knew was of my own creation, they would do it. Heck they even stole my graphics a couple of times. So these were not isolated incidences...So, that is my main concern, people ripping from me....anouther is, if they are getting it for free so to speak, why bother registering for it...I figured that if they were truely interested in the content , they would join. I also thought that the members of EE should be the priveledge ones to see the content...meh...these are my reasons for no....
now to filp the coin, so to speak..... If I opened the boards, people will not join to see what the content is, and will have joined becuase they saw something that appealed to them. They would not have joined out of curiousity...they would have made judgement before joining not after....thats the only reason actually I can come up with...
as for the I dont care...please care I would like to know...but if you don't I will respect that....
Should Guest be allowed to veiw the boards? So please vote and post why.....

No, because i've had ideas stolen from my RPG board. I made up my own leveling system, moves for characters, ect ect and when i visted somebodys new board, they'd used the same ideas as me. It's unfair, and if they really wanted to see what was on the other boards they couldnt see they'd make the effort to join.

I say keep it the same. It's really working out fine. We really need at least to protect and have parts of the forum covered up. If there that interested sign up and then take a peek. Which is something they can do. But we can always get rid of there account.

I say yes, but only allow them to view things that wouldn't allow them to steal things. Strange as it sounds, it could work.

I say no.
I have a couple boards myself that have information on them. One in particular has things that I created myself and I spent alot of time doing so. While most things on the web are free(so to speak) some things aren't and there are too many people who are willing to take it rather than become memebers.
Perhaps if they had given you credit for the ideas.....
Both of my sites have acknowledgements for information that I did not create. It's one of the main rules.

I say no, just like Aaron said it's fine the way it is. Since people was stealing your content, you blocking the ability to view some boards from the guests is a good idea. And you're not blocking all of your content, which makes your board more appealing.

Nope I don't think that guests should see all of the boards, some yes to tell how big EE is but not all so that they have something to look for

I'm a bit split here. On one hand, I know I like to be able to peruse a board before I join, to see if there's enough there that interests me before I register, and it can sometimes be kind of cfrustrating not to be able to see anything, and I can see it reasonably causing some people who might otherwise have registered, leave.
On the other hand, registration isn't really a big deal, and since you've had so many people stealing stuff in the past, I'm sure the hidden boards are for good reason. I'd have to say maybe a compromise is best- show a select few of the boards, but not all.

I'm a little on both sides, but I say yes; however not all boards. What its like now is a little too much hidden in my opinion. There could be a couple more open, just to show people a little what its like, but not enough to give everything away to the guests.

I suggest opening up the Neutral Zone to guests. On a second note, I also suggest hiding the staff boards to anyone who aren't staff. I think the Neutral Zone would be good to open up because its not part of the main theme, generally just off topic content. And in The Observation Deck, 'science' is spelled wrong in the board description. =P

Yeah the general boards and area's can be opened up. Those will be on you know typically any forum. So not that bad of a problem.

hmmm maybe should have ...Don't know. As I think maybe would have helped those that didn't really know and not force if they did vote to go Yes , or No. Just a thought.
