I think guests should be able to view, they can on my forum.
I hate having to signup to decide if i like a forum.

I say no, and I say that because if they want to see threads and stuff like that in here then they would sign up.

I belong to a fourm where any fan fiction or fan art are login only to view. That is a way of protecting content while still allowing prospective members to take a look.

I agree with prometheus, but make it a stipulation. I think thats it dumb to have to join a board, introduce yourself and then deside you its not for you. I think you shuld make it so only CERTAIN boards are available to the travelres to view. Maybe the gathering, the welcome baord (so they can see how friendly we all are nad what we have that they can't see.) and perhaps the obsevation deck, that shoudl be enough tos how them what we have, and they want to say something in a topic they see there, or if they decide they like whats in there they can join then.

I say yes, but only allow them to view things that wouldn't allow them to steal things. Strange as it sounds, it could work. But pooey

LOL...I dont think so...you need to have membership to see what I have.....besides, Ihave your IP address now. Piffy what does IP mean anyways? It's your internet provider number. It's the closest thing to a Physical thing we have on the net. There are ways to change it. Like if you have dial up or if you use a proxy. Or if you have a DSL modem box or such things. But there still numbers that stay the same. 6 numbers in that set no matter how you change them or how often will stay the same.

I can't believe a member would spam my boards like this. I know who it is, and they hiding behind two false names is very immature and disappointing. (idea nicker and solaris123 are the same person as one of our members) I know who they are and I know they have a forum and I know that it is a very simular topic. But here this...and you know who you are...if I see ANY of my ideas or content matter being used on your froum, I will make it my mission to shut it down. I think it is very shameful to behave like this. One time it might have been a joke...twice and it is down right inconsiderate, immature and rude... Please do not do it again....

No, I think you should allow them to veiw the boards without competitions or anything you made up compleatly yourself. I also think the graphic/s board/s should be closed to guests as they may steal images off other members....

I think they should be allowed to view some of the more popular boards. This gives them an idea of what the board discussions are, but also lets them wonder about the other boards.

IP stands for Internet Protocol. If I was on my moms computer my IP adress would change every time I log on to a site. I think no, because I had a few of my ideas ripped off my site by some nitwit. They got in to my games folder took the cheats i found and the guides i made for some certain games and posted them as their own on gamefaqs and cheat code central

Anybody could steal your graphics, I rightclicked and clicked veiw page source I could recreate your enite site if i wanted to, its kinda easy just copy and paste on to another sites header/ footer section and everythings there. So i wouldnt worry about some one stealing the graphics or codes. If your worried some one will steal your ideas then, all i can say is dont put it on the internet. Most people use the internet are not mature enough to come up with their own ideas and so they copy other peoples ideas, and its as simple registering. however as for letting guests see certain content I say a little. Give guests a teaser make them want more than make them register. kind of how you use the pw protected boards like the elmenti to make us try to solve th puzzle
