As Fi heard Anrelle's voice and watched Dog move away, she began to feel the woman's thoughts once again, this time they were easier to understand, and Fiacha felt sorry for the woman. It had been no one's fault but Fi's that the young girl had been scared and had tried to run, and Anrelle did not need to feel disgusted with herself for being frightened. Taking a deep breath and gathering her courage, Fi stepped towards the woman.
She continued to walk forwards, taking advantage of the conversation that she was currently having with Dog to sneak up undetected. It was unlikely that she would actually be undetected, but she was trying her best and for a ten year old she was fairly good at it. Fi stopped, she was there, within reach, and reach she did.
Carefully, Fi inserted her tiny hand inside Anrelle's and looked up at the woman with those huge, innocent blue eyes, a hesitant smile on her face. "You didn't hurt me, Anrelle, and it wasn't your fault." She shivered slightly and pulled dog's sweatshirt more tightly about her with one hand.

There was a sudden gasp, as her body became as stiff as the name sent a surge of panic through Anrelle’s body. Her mind began to reel with the memories of her last encounter with this Taric. The Demon. Her father. Just the mentioning of his name was enough to invoke fear in anyone who had ever had the misfortune to survive crossing paths with the creature of the underworld. It was a name she had fought hard to get away from.
“H-How do you know that name?” She whispered, the fear in her voice obvious. She stepped a few feet closer to him and the child. She didn‘t feel threatened by them, just the opposite. But there was one fact that bothered her. “No one who knows that name has ever lived to speak it. I, myself , barely escaped with my life! How is it that you’ve come to know this creature?”

The touching gesture of the little girl made him shake his head. She was a brave and troubled one, he could see that with hardly a glance, but Dog couldn't spare much thought for what Fiacha had done, distracted as he was by Anrelle's shock and almost instintive fright. Dog swallowed hastily, clearing a dry throat and though he remained unaware of it, his own hands groped for just such a comfort as the girl had just offered Anrelle, but it was not the Fiacha's hand that he would have liked to feel within his hand, but another's...
She had answered him and now so must he. The laugh the followed Anrelle's stammered questions was much the same as what had earrlier escaped Dog, but this time, it held the bitter edge of long felt sorrow and guilt. He closed his eyes slowly, opening them to gaze distractedly at the half moon that shone blurrily down through the haze of civilization that surrounded them. It was calming and, more over, reassuring, for it meant that he coud still see the sky, that he was outside. Dog swung his gaze back down to the lady. "Creature is certainly the right word. Were you aware that he has a few unpleasant, uncomfortably and very dark holes in his possesion?" The best words he could find at the moment, describing a place you had lived for ten years of your life that had given you most of your fears was not an easy task.
His voice was low and quiet, not exactly a whisper, and had deadened into something that conveyed no emotion, for that part of him was, if not completely dead, then dying slowly as more and more years passed. "He has a sharp dislike for those of my family, it has been going on for so long that even my grandfather didn't know the reason it began, but some 60, maybe 65, years ago he invaded our land in a rage, greater than any before, and de-destroyed my family. That is how I know his name, I have always known his name."
Dog shivered, the cold suddenly much more piercing than it should have been, for the night was warm. It wasn't the wind though, for Dog's wounds, despite the time that had passed, had never fully healed and were decaying within the walls he had long ago confined them too. He would not continue now unless specifically asked, for this was something he had never spoken of, not even to the goddess he called Mistress.

She stood there, speechless as his story unfolded before her eyes. A story that held some familiarity to it, as she remembered the tales she was told as a child of the creature that came into her home the night she was conceived. How ’He’ had swept through the land, his presence of evil lingering over the land like a thick fog, the night her mother had died. The night she was meant to die.
“Then it appears we have a common enemy.” Her expression was blank as she walked towards him. Her peripheral vision allowed her to see the entire area, and she kept a close eye on the shadows that surrounded them. “For this creature has haunted my footsteps since I was born. It wishes to kill me simply because I am a female.” She looked into the young man’s eyes, trying to find some hint that he knew what she was talking about, something that would give him away as being in league with the Demon. “It does not like females of it’s own kind.”

He wrapped his arms about himself, staring at her in an unguarded moment as she stepped close. "Huh, more like an uncommon enemy." He muttered to himself, snorting at the thought that either of them had dared to name Taric as such. Then, with a deep breath, he pulled himself together, not altogether certain that he wanted this lady to come any closer. After what he had seen and what he had been through, Dog did not feel it was wise to let a demon, even half of one, any closer than it needed to be. "I do not think he likes anyone, of whatever kind... Please! Come no closer!"
He held up his hands, both in plea and apology. He did not want her to feel pushed away, for no doubt she was lonely enough in her existence, but her presence was too much and the scent of demon brought back deeply troubling memories. Ones he had hoped would never resurface. Letting his ears tell him of her whereabouts, Dog pressed his hands against his eyes, hoping, perhaps, that he would wake up from this strange nightmare to find that the last 6 decades had been nothing but a dream.
He could not, however, keep the hope from growing within is chest and it choked him so he could not speak. How cruel of the fates to give him an ally who was part demon, though he supposed that the goddess had her reasons. Great Diana, let my thoughts not be wrong, let my hope prove well founded... He prayed in earnest to his mistress, she had heard him before and had taken him into her pack. Would she listen a second time?

…“Come no closer!“…
She stopped in her tracks, knowing all to well that it was something about her that warranted such an outburst. Usually people ran from her in terror after repeating those words. Yet she caught a small glimpse of a sympathetic look in his eyes. How strange it was to come across someone who was neither scared of her or wanted her dead.
“I won’t hurt you.” She said again, this time with more of a sincere tone to her voice. “I promise I won’t hurt you or the child.” She sighed as she took a few steps back, hoping this would ease their worries. “I was just not expecting company up here.” She turned away and faced the dark horizon. “I chose this place because it seemed high enough that I could be alone.” She turned and faced them again. A faint smile on her lips. “Apparently I wasn’t the only one who found the solitude of this rooftop appealing.”

((sorry it took so long, first I were waiting for Triv, then I have no excuse))
Dog sighed, extremely grateful that she had stopped and wasn't judging, outwardly at least. He noticed that even now she remained wary, not of him, as her promise revealed, but of the shadows that could hide almost anything. He wondered about that, guessing that she was uncertain about just where she stood at the moment. As uncertain as he was probably. He sighed again, more out of resignation than gratitude this time. "I'm sorry..." His smile was weak, but it didn't look forced. "Apparently not."
Shaking his head, he steeled himself and, in what for him was a great show of trust, walked past her to the rooftop's ledge. The act of which kept his back to her until he turned around to take a seat. It left him shaken, for he was not entirely sure just when and why he had decided to trust her, and the effort was more than he would ever have expected. It was as these thoughts flashed through his mind that he realized none of them knew each other. "Oh, My name is Alan," The name sounded strange to him, so he added, "but I prefer Dog."

The entirety of that conversation soared high above Fiacha's head and she made no attempt to sort through it all. The only thing she understood was that something was chasing Anrelle, or hunting her, and that came mostly from the feelings of fright and anxiety that rolled off of the woman than anything that was said. She was feeling rather useless and ignored, usually she enjoyed such feelings, but for some reason she wanted these two to like her. It had nothing to do with the fact that Anrelle had shot firey black balls at her and made it quite clear that she would make a terrible enemy. Nor the fact that Dog, was well a dog.
"Why you like being called Dog? And do you like being called Anrelle? Or something else?"
((Sorry for taking so long and sorry it's so short))

’And do you like being called Anrelle?’
She cocked her head to one side. Her eyes returning to their bright emerald green. “I don’t like or dislike it. It is what I answer too. Nothing more.” It was a rather odd question. But considering the person who was asking seemed rather childlike in Anrelle eyes, it wasn’t that astonishing either. Children always did confuse her. They just made no sense.
She had never really thought about her name, whether she liked it or not was irrelevant. To her it was just a name. She wasn’t even sure of how she came by it.
“Why are you all here?”

He sighed at the little girl's questions, usually, when someone asked him that, he would give them a smile and just wave it off as a nickname, but while it wasn't a lie, it wasn't really the truth either. He settled for a rather evasive answer, one that didn't really give much away. "It reminds me of what I am." His voice hitched as he spoke, but it didn't break, for which he was grateful. But now he looked more closely at... Anrelle. He would have loved to know a great deal more about her and, judging from her question, she felt the same way about him and the child.
"Well, I can't answer for that one," He gestured loosely at Fiacha, "but I'm here because I've been hiding too long and I wanted to get out from between those four walls." Dog pointed down, through the roof to where his room might, or might not be. And he was telling the complete truth. After going through Toric's idea of 'hospitality', Dog was rather claustrophobic, and he didn't like being inside for too long. In fact, he didn't really even like to think of going inside and it had taken all his will power not to freeze up or go running back out the door the moment he got inside, and he certainly wasn't looking forward to going back down the stairs.
He raised his brows, his look rather self-deprecating, as only his could be. Then he turned his eyes to the girl. "What about you, little'un? Were you thinkin' of hiding up here too?"

Fiacha shrugged. Yes, she was hiding up here, but not from anything that the other two would think of hiding from. No one ever did. "People never come up here, it's quiet." And feelings and thoughts dimmed as they floated upwards through the air, but these two didn't need to know that, they didn't need to look at her like some kind of freak. Everyone else did. It was likely that Anrelle and Dog would understand her if she tried to explain to them exactly why she'd been up here. They had powers of their own so it wouldn't have been that strange to them, but... If her stuttering, half-hearted explanations went wrong, if she said something that could be interpreted as bad. If they began to understand the extent of what she could do, what she hated doing, they might hate her too. It was unnatural to read another's thoughts, to be inside a person's head, to know everything. It wouldn't matter that these episodes hurt her and that the person never knew what she'd seen, or heard, or felt. All that mattered was wat they thought she would be able to do with her curse and, because they were adults, it was most likely that they'd see the worst possibility and think that she used this thing badly or against someone. Anrelle was scared enough as it was, no need to frighten her more, and Dog, well he was impossible to read, which pleased her. Fiacha wanted him as a friend, she did not want to frighten him. It probably wouldn't even matter that she couldn't read his thoughts.
Now that Anrelle was calming down, it was easier for her to think. "I'm always hiding, but they always find me again. Find me and hurt me." She closed her eyes and held a hand to her head, tears slowly began streaming from her eyes, somewhere nearby a boy her age was crying too. His mother was dying alone on some hospital bed because the nurses had refused to let him in if he couldn't prove who he was. He was sad and angry and scared and his mother was dying. Fi opened her eyes and gazed hopelessly at Dog and Anrelle. She'd thought it would be alright up here, she'd be safe, but any moment now she'd fall to the ground, fainting from the strain and she'd scare them away. Her blue eyes were imploring as she whispered almost to herself. "It's not his fault, but it hurts...I'm scared. Please, help."
Her eyelashes fluttered against damp cheeks and her body crumpled in on itself, falling with a thump to the ground.
