Chapter One
The Wise Man
An old man lay in a bed, wide awake, looking at an ancient book. A young man stood beside him, eagerly waiting for a response for something. The young man took out a black velvet purse and showed it to the old man. "This is what I must give her. This burden, this thing." The man opened the black purse and dropped the big book as it hit with a thump. The old man said quickly, "Where did you get this?" The young man replied, "From an old woman saying I must give this to my daughter on her 14th birthday. She said I must not touch it." "And you must not," said the old man. "If you did, your hand would melt away, and never grow back!" The young man was startled. "Melt away?" he said. "But... I'm not giving that to my daughter!" "You must! " said the old man "It is legend she gets it!" The old man got up and went to his closet. He pulled out a piece of paper. "Take this," the man said weakly. "This is what you must do. Explain to the girl. Now, I must go." He laid on his soft wooden bed and left the world. This wise old man would never come back. He was gone, but smiling he knew his mission in this world was complete.
Chapter Two The Young Girl The Stubborn Father
The young girl sat in her bed, daydreaming. She was a wonderful, beautiful girl: she was thin, and had blonde locks of hair. Even her name was beautiful - Rose. She had a note book and a pencil with her. She was dreaming up ways for her 14th birthday to go. She wanted a nice dress, and she wanted all her good friends there. She was a lucky girl. She had a wonderful dad who loved her very much, and would do anything for her. Her mother left them awhile ago - at least, that's what her dad said. She didn't truly know what happened to her mother. The phone rang and it was her best friend, so she started to talk.
While she talked her father was in his room, crying as he wondered what was going to happen next. This girl he always loved, always cared about, was someone special. This girl wasn't his daughter. Just the though killed him like millions of slashes to the heart. He read the piece of paper the old wise man gave to him. 'Tell Rose to take the black purse and go to an old maple tree in the wide forest. Tell her she has enemies, and that she needs to cross between worlds to meet a boy by the name of Hirun.' The note didn't even make sense to this father. He didn't understand. He just knew that he was going to lose this wonderful girl. Tomorrow was her birthday - Rose would leave, and he didn't know when she would return. He left the room and put the velvet purse under the bed. He wasn't going to let this happen. He wasn't going to lose Rose!

Chapter 3 The Horrible Birthday
Rose awoke bright and early She hopped down the stairs and woke her dad. "Today's my birthday!" She was so happy. Her dad put on a fake smile and tried to be happy of this day. "So," she said, "where is my birthday breakfast?"
As her dad cooked a morning meal, Rose went outside. It was wonderful. The grass was as green as a sour apple picked just right. She looked at the bright blue sky. She said to herself, "Today will be a great day." As she looked she saw a man in a black silky cloak just beyond the trees. He frightened Rose and she went inside. "Dad!" she said. "There is a man outside!" Her father went to check. Rose noticed he was red a teary eyed she wondered why. "I see nothing," he said. Rose looked back at the window. Nothing was there. "I could have sworn... no, maybe its just all in my head." She went off to her room.
In the heavens, two men stood side by side and looked in a mirror that saw all. "He is being foolish," said the old wise man who had died. "He will not go on with this legend." "Damn!" said the other man, who was dressed in a white cloak. "Why won't he? Why is he being so stubborn?" "Marthine," said the wise man. "Calm down. Let's just do something. Yelling about it won't do any good." "Perhaps I can help," said a woman in a white cloak. "Sara. Perhaps you can. You must get that burden to the girl before midnight!" "If you don't she will die! Then our legend that was supposed to form will shatter, and the world as we know it will be gone." "Yes," said Sara. "I will do all I can." She vanished
In a dark, deep place called Mitheran, a huge castle stood. A woman in a black cloak twirled her fingers. She had black hair, and her eyes were cold. She was an all powerful witch: she ruled, she conquered, she killed. As she looked in her mirror she saw a father crying. She laughed a high pitch laugh. A man in a black cloak ran in. "Everything is working according to plan, but the little brat saw me". "Not a problem," replied the witch. "We can deal with her. For now, keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get that purse." "Yes, mama."
"Only one hour 'til the party!" said Rose. She was so excited. Her friends started to pour in the room. The party was going great. It lasted so long... Rose looked at the clock. It was 11:29. Her birthday was almost over. She didn't want it to end. She was having the best time ever!
Meanwhile her father was in his bed, crying. He was sure he wasn't going to give this to her. He didn't care about the legend, yet he still cried and he wasn't sure why. Maybe it's 'cause she's not my daughter. He kept crying, and the pain didn't stop. Then, he heard a scream. Rose was in trouble.
Chapter 4
Midnight
Rose just stood there as a woman in a white cloak fought a man in a black cloak. All the guests were frozen in time, and it was just the two strangers fighting, in her house on her birthday. They had magic powers - they shot beams at each other as they moved around the room. They were fighting on the walls and everything. The black-cloaked man ran up the wall, his feet breaking the clock. She noticed on her watch that it was 11:50. She felt woozy. She fell to the floor, her eyes barely open. Sara had to act quickly. The father ran down the stairs and fell to her daughter. Sara ran sideways up the wall and straight into the fathers bed room. She looked under the bed and grabbed the purse. She flew down the step. The black cloak man blasted Sara and the purse flew out of her hand. The father stood next to her daughter. His tears came like a fountain that would never stop. "Father," said the girl weakly, "what is wrong?" Sara blasted the black cloak man with a white beam. The man fell dead. The purse flew to Sara's hand, and she ran to Rose. She opened the purse. "No!" said the father. "No! I won't let this happen!" "You have no choice!" screamed Sara. "It is legend! It must happen!" "No!" said the father. "I don't care about the legend! No! No!" "Do you care for your daughter?" screamed Sara. "What? Yes, of course..." "If we don't give her this burden she will die!"
At that, Rose's eyes closed. As her hand fell, Sara and father both saw that her watch read 12:00.

Chapter 5 The End?
No pulse, no heartbeat, nothing. The father sobbed. No - how could he let this happen? No, no, it couldn't be! He fell to his knees. Sara looked, didn't cry but looked at the peaceful girl. Sara was upset with the father. "She can live, but you must do something," she said softly. "Sacrifice you life." The father froze. He was upset, but - his life? He had no idea what to do. He just stood next to the girl that wasn't his daughter, yet whom he loved. "If you don't do this," said Sara, "then millions will die and the world as we know it will cease to exist. Does change your mind at all? Are you that cold hearted?" "No," said the man. "It's just, my life-" "A millionothers, and your world!" "Fine! " he said. "Take me." "Done." Her white spell pierced him. He swirled into the air, floating in a white maelstrom. The life seeped from his body and poured into Rose. The paper flew out of his pocket and fell to the floor. Rose awoke.
A scream echoed through the dark castle. "No! How could this have happened? Why couldn't this legend fail? Why? Why is she alive?" The witch was angry - really angry. A man in a purple cloak came in. "Circa, we don't know how this happened. We thought she was dead. My men did all they could, yet she still lives! We don't understand!" "Myrun, shut up!" yelled Circa. "We must do something else. Send a few troops to the wide forest, now!" "Yes, mama." He lifted his hand. From it emerged a beam, which formed five black-cloaked men. "My troops, we are to kill this girl!"
She jumped up off the floor and stared at the woman before her. She looked down on her father, then glared angrily at the woman. "What the hell did you do to him?" she screamed. "I... He gave his life to me to bring you back. He loves you, and you died." She grabbed the purse. "This is yours." She grabbed the note. "And you must read this and understand it." "What?" Rose said, I... has not... My father? How can this be? I don't understand - I don't want to understand!" "Please don't cry. Open your purse." Rose did. Inside was a beautiful stone. "I don't get it." "Follow me," said Sara. "We must go to the wide forest."
Stunned, Rose got up and followed the stranger out of her house, leaving her dead father and her old life.
Chapter 6
The Wide Woods
Rose followed the stranger down her driveway. She had tears in her eyes the whole time.
Her life had changed - no longer would it be normal. Her father was dead, and she was leaving. Her father? What was she thinking? That man wasn?t her father. He was just a lie in her life. The lie grew and grew, and she couldn?t take it.
As the walked Sara was also silent. She was worried if Rose could handle this legend. Would she make it?
Getting to the woods seemed to take forever. Rose opened her purse to look at the stone.
Stupid stone! Why did I have to get this? Thoughts rushed in her head. She just kept staring at the stone. Then the green beautiful stone color changed. The beautiful green was erased by a flashing bright Blood red color.
Out of nowhere, a large black blast shot right at Sara. Rose screamed and looked to the woods. They were there, but five tall, strong, black-cloaked men stood in a line - except there was one man with a purple velvet cloak. He stepped forward and spoke to Sara.
"Well, Sara, it seems you want to foil our plans again." The purple-cloaked man smirked. "Sorry to say I won't allow it." He turned to Rose. "You're not leaving these woods." Rose was startled. She didn?t know what to do. Without thinking, she closed her fingers around the stone with a tight grip. Sara got back up and shot a bright white blast at one of the cloaked man, killing him.
"Attack!" yelled the purple-cloaked man.
The four men in cloaks ran towards Sara surrounding her. Rose took the stone out of the purse and thought how she wanted to just save Sara.
Out of the clear blue sky, a bright green beam lanced down, striking the men. It stopped their hearts and they fell, dead.
Rose was shocked. Not only was she a fugitive, she was a killer too!
The cloaked man was furious. "How dare you kill my men! I'll finish you! I am Myrun. You die now!" He ran to Sara, his hands glowing purple, and she attacked her with all her might.
"Run!" yelled Sara. "Run!" With that, Sara shot a gold beam at the woods and a portal appeared. "Go to the cottage! Find Hirun! Go - hurry, run!"
With that, Rose ran into the portal and vanished.
Chapter 7 Hirun and the Legend
Rose felt numb. Her bones felt different. She felt like she would throw up. Colors flashed in her eyes as she took her voyage through the portal. She heard Sara scream behind her, and she could probably say Sara died. Tears blurred her sight as she hung onto her stone, gripping it tight. She felt a rush of wind tugging at her, and she flew out of the portal, falling to the ground with a thump.
Hirun was a good kid, at 17 years old. He was obedient and virtuous. He lived with his great aunt who was very sick. He went out to the tree to pick fruit. He hopped on his broom stick and levitated into the air, picking apples for his sick aunt.
Hirun was a caring boy, but he was also strange. Living in the new world, he had powers he never dreamed of. He could use magic with his hand, but he wasn't really good at it at all.
His aunt told him one day he would meet a girl who fell out of the clear blue sky, and have to help her on her journey. He didn't think she was being literal, but as he looked up a girl fell from the sky and hit the ground.
Quickly he flew over to see if she was okay. She was unconscious. He put her on his broom stick and flew her to his aunt's.
Rose woke up, not sure where she was, not sure what happened. She looked around and noticed she wasn't home. She rubbed her head, discovering that it was bandaged and she had a headache. Then, she remembered her so-called dad dying for her and a stranger telling her to run into a portal. Then, she didn't know what happened. A boy with black hair, pretty blue eyes, and a cute baby face entered the room.
"My name is Hirun," he said. "Welcome to my home, if you can call it that."
The room was dusty and messy, and it didn't look like a home he would have.
"Are you a peasant?" she asked.
"No," said Hirun. "I'm a wizard."
"A wizard?" she said. "Oh, I see. Well, my name is Rose, and I come from a different world than you. I am a human being, and frankly, I don't know why I am here, but I'm supposed to come and see you ask you what I must do and to show you my... stone!"
She got quickly, noticing her stone was not with her. She panicked and ran out of the room.
She ran past Hirun's aunt, who greeted her kindly, then out the door.
"Wait," sayid Hirun. "I'll take you with me." He grabbed his broom.
"No!" argued Rose. "I'm not getting on a-"
She didn't have time to finish. Hirun pulled her onto the broom, and they flew high into the clouds to travel to where she fell from her world.
