Yeah, I know. Its been awhile since I put anything in this section. Oh wellz.. enjoy. It didn't exactly go as how I had it in my head but hey oh well right?
I don't know why, but I've found myself
deep down in the South. It confuses me
as to why I came here. I've seen things
that amaze me. Like the food, a good deal
of the foods I've tried are simply to die for.
Somethings do disturb me, but I guess I'm
just here to see all of what the Deep South
has to show. Come across family I never
knew I had, but something deep inside is
telling me thats not the true reason as to why
I'm goin' this far.
Chorus
Goin' down South to see different things.
Its all so different from what I'm used too.
But I'm goin' down South to see what it
has to offer. I've gone deep South and
my life will never be the same.
I've gone to famous areas of the South,
such as areas where the North and South fought.
And each time I always felt a deep sadness
for all the lives that were lost. And when I see
some form of racism I feel an inner rage and profound
pity that some people just can't escape the ways of
racism. I've seen many things, and yet the South
continues to keep its hold on me. Makin' me wonder
when I'll be able to leave. Guess I'll know when
the time comes.
Chorus
Goin' down South to see different things.
Its all so different from what I'm used too.
But I'm goin' down South to see what it
has to offer. I've gone deep South and
my life will never be the same.
With each new dawn I see and experience
many new things. I've trekked through the swamps
and fished in the bayou's. Even ran like the Devil himself
was after me when I got a voodoo practicioner angry at me!
Conned by the best and nearly shot down by the KKK. Those
are memories I'd never wanna remember and yet somehow I know
later on down the road I'll remember them anyway. I've tried a few
times to leave the good ol' South and yet something always stopped me.
So I figure I might as well continue doin' what I do.
Chorus
Goin' down South to see different things.
Its all so different from what I'm used too.
But I'm goin' down South to see what it
has to offer. I've gone deep South and
my life will never be the same.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll be free
to leave. But in the mean time I'm gonna live
while I'm here. And one day we'll all see one
another when the time is right.
