It is to be expected. Rejection is a part of this business. It would be too easy to have all submissions accepted, I'm not that good. But at least I'm out of the 'waiting limbo'. Some magazines don't like the idea of you sending your story to others while they're looking at it so you have to wait on their judgement before sending it out agian. I can understand that, but it's such a pain in the @$$. [white]Thank you very much for submitting "Trip for a Lifetime" to us here at (editted out). There are some interesting ideas in the story but unfortunately, it's not quite right for us at this time.
I do wish you the best of luck with it and with your writing in the future and thank you again for considering us as a market for your work.[/b][/white] I'm going to print it off and frame it. ONe mag down, about a hundred to go.

I think it is cool that you sent them out. Often you hear about authors getting rejected at first and many times after that. Don't give up on your dreams...
If it was men, I would buy a photo album and seal every letter you get in it. It would make for a good momento.. When you are finally published you will have it to show that you never gave up....and it will make for a good conversation piece.
Was that the story that I read some of the excerts from?

Actually I sent in both The Huntress and Trip Of A Lifetime. It was Trip that got rejected, and I'm still waiting for a reply for Huntress. Actually Enchant, that sounds like a really good idea. I think I might just do that.

Lol, now I can't remember what I sent you. Anyhoo.....got a first rejection for The Huntress, and I'm not surprised. I posted it on the workshop I belong to after I sent it out, and the group pointed out numerous mistakes. Lol, I wish I could ask for a redo. But you get right back on the horse and send it out again. Which I did this morning. Hopefully this new revised Huntress will have a better chance.

Heh, the story that I entered for this competition I also entered into another competition for a magazine (haven't heard anything back yet...) but when I was looking over it again for this bit, I didn't find too many mistakes, but those I did find were big, like I accidently called Tom Tim twice. Since he is mentioned four times... you get the picture. Good luck with getting The Huntress published this second time. That photo album of rejections could also keep you modest when you're a majorly famous author.

Thank-you for the support. I've been told the trick to this is not quitting. If it's rejected then send it out again and keep doing it. I have a whole page of ezines, and I just got another one from a friend on LiveJournal, so that should keep me going for awhile.
