Okay....so we have all heard about genetic experiementation on humans. Its a big theme amoung scifi movies. However, what would happen if the reverse was done? A animal bred with a human? Would the result be the same or something mutated? Well I was surfing the net and came across a most intriguing article. LEADING scientist has warned a new species of "humanzee," created from breeding apes with humans, could become a reality unless the government acts to stop scientists experimenting. In an interview with The Scotsman, Dr Calum MacKellar, director of research at the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics, warned the controversial draft Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill did not prevent human sperm being inseminated into animals. Full ArticleI think I can understand using animal genetics on humans as a way to genetically enhance them...however...I am not sure why they would do it on animals, although, it would be interesting to communitcate with them. But to breed them? Although...it does make me cringe to even think about it, I couldn't help but flash to mythology and how there are many hybrids - Animal/human creatures. Myth usually has some base of truth behind them...so I cant help but wonder if something like this was actually possible.
