With the South in the grip of an epic drought and its largest city holding less than a 90-day supply of water, officials are scrambling to deal with the worst-case scenario: What if Atlanta's faucets really do go dry? Apparently, the powers that be were familiar with the possiblity, yet they havent a plan for it. It reminds me of Hurricane Katrinia. The state knew of the issue, but didn't prevent it or prepare for it...where is the tax money going? Isn't this what it is intended for? The Georgia Gov. seems to be pinning his hopes on a two-pronged approach: urging water conservation and reducing water flowing out of federally controlled lakes. Full Article. Lets say the worse happens....What if the water runs out...what do you think will happen? In the movie and book 'DUNE': by Frank Herbert, water is worshiped. So much so that they drink the tears, and sweat and even the water of the dead, so that it doesn't waste. It is interesting and sad to see that one of the main things we need to survive is something that we all take for granted. What happens when the one thing you have taken for granted is taken from you?

I am completely convinced that this is due to global warming. G&M had an article today about how warm it was for this time of the month. That we are at twice the average for this time of year, and also, that it's been one of the driest falls in several decades. That, along with the severe wildfires in Cali, is a serious message.
I wonder if all those nay-sayers will finally take the hint Mother Nature is sending....
