I know that there has been speculative talk about the possiablity of terraforming planets like Mars, especially after life and water has been found on it. Do you think that it would be possiable and do you think that it will actually happen?
I know that there has been a discovery of a new planet that is suppose to be simular to earth....only until we have the means and technology to travel that far, it will have to be localized...
I would like to know your thoughts on this.

I've heard some of the ideas behind the Mars terraforming projects and they seam rather sound. Creating a breathable atmosphere by adding c02. This would be accomplished by using factories. So there would be jobs and terraforming at the same time. Problem is, it would take several hundred years before the atmosphere was breathable.
My only concern is that would it stay. Scientists think that Mars did have an atmosphere thousands of years ago, but that it was stripped abway by the solar winds, so what is to say that won't happen again? It has something to do with the core of Mars and it's magnetic field. While Earth still has a strong field, I belive Mars' is almost gone. If this is the problem, then scientist are going to have to come up with a way to increase the magnetic field as well.
