Who will answer this prayer, when not even the gods can hear it? A prayer raised in question, a question which no one understands. Pain reflects in the speaker’s eyes while souls cry out around her. A million deaths of her creating, none she wished to cause. She waits there in the moonlight weeping, but not a tear falls.
A storm tossed sea, lashed with rain, is many a dreamer’s fear. Yet beauty calm has beguiled and drawn them to their fate. Proud white beasts, eerily lit, and fanged monsters from below. A broken ship, lightning struck, ghosts through this realm. Leaving in its wake a tireless flood that slowly closes over all.
Years sweep past with bitter memories, the bright ones fade away. Thoughts that have stilled, too distant to find Keep the treasures of long ago locked within a mind.
I'm not completely sure what this is, but I wrote the first bit to be contradictory, if you can tell me what it makes you think of, I won't laugh or rave that that's not it. The second verse is about many sailors' superstitions at sea and the third is just thoughts on aging memory.

Yay, for the second stanza, I think I wrote it after reading 'The Flying Dutchman'. Hmm, mother nature you say? Interesting, I know I wrote it as the prelude to some story about a god or something, but I can't find it, so cool.
