Imagine yourself lying on the floor, bleeding to death from a stab womb. Your trying to lift yourself off the floor and get some help, when 5 people just step over you to shop for snacks. Even worst, when you think one of these people are taking out thier cell phone to call the police, they take a picture instead and then carry on with their shopping.
It would be revolting ...would it not?
Well such is the case with 27 year old, LaShana Calloway of Wichita, Kansas. The innocent woman was stabbed in an altercation, not robbery related. Survelliance video shows 5 people walking over her and one stopping to take a picture. According to police, it took someone in the store over 2 minutes to call 911. LaShanda died later at the hospital.
It is heart breaking to hear, read and see this kind of humanity. It is sad to know that a bag of potatoe chips or a peice of gum is valued more over a woman's life. I can't imagine what the thoughts of LaShanda was lying thier and see the lack of compassion. It makes me want to cry.
I did some research and found out thier there will not be any criminal charges against these 5 people, becuase there is no Good Samaritan Law in place in Kansas. The only thing that can be done would have to be through civil courts.
When did our world get so screwed up? I can't help but feel that the moral fiber of what was a great country has turned into a barbaric nation. Whena state worries more about frivilous things instead of being a good people.
A survelliance video has been with held for evidence. Personally, I feel that the faces of those 5 people be aired and let them feel the shame of thier lack of compassion...If they can't be arrested, let them feel the humility.
