Now I was thinking about this the other day, is it really possible to not believe anything? Even athiests believe completely in something, the idea of no God and the superior intellect of themselves.

No. I don't think people can. Even if there honestly ISNT anything out there and no higher being or thing.....we'd always believed in it. Which is why really at least I think and know some other's that are christians and such laff at the Da Vinci Code. Christianity is such a part of this country and world that I don't think it will be a threat. Sure may take a few people but those weren't always with it. Those that were I don't think there going to have a lapse of faith. What saying is that myth's and legand's and religion and such takes away the sting of the world. Because, with out that we just have this EXTREMELY black comedy. It has some pretty dark moments but some very light and comedic type moments.

I personally think everyone believes in something, fair enough they might not believe in religion but they will have a belief in something even if its as basic as the ability to love. My mother claims to be an Atheist but when her mother passed away she took to wearing a golden cross her sister in law (my Aunt, who is a devout catholic) had given her in memory of both my Grandmothers who had passed away with in months of each other. She even took my Grandmothers ashes to be scattered up at a holy retreat called Ministry Acres, not I pointed out the actions of someone who claimed to not believe in God....she then claimed to believe in God but not the religions that follow him/her. all I can say to that is ?

Even if someone doesnt believe in anything they at least acknowledge the fact that there is some higher being of some kind, espicially because religion is so prevalent that they have to hear of a higher power of some kind.

I think we're hardwired to beleive some things. We generally believe in our own existance. Except when going into a funhouse or a movie or pulling out an optical illusion book, tend to believe our eyes. When we walk into that funhouse, we believe we can't trust everything our eyes tell us.
I think to really not believe anything, we would have to end up with less brain activity than most animals.

I think your on to something jagggar, our ability to believe in things seperates us from animals. So if we all agree that everybody believes in something, that animals cannot, how do we feel that millions of years some how created that ability?
