Phsychic surgery is a particularly striking forum of psychic healing, mainly found in the South America and Phillippines. Psychic surgeons perform gory-looking operations with no anesthetic, using only thier hands and simple tools like penknives and scapels, sometimes appearing to reach inside the patients body. they remove deseased tissues, curing the patient, who is usually left with no visual scarring or wounds. Sound to bizarre to be true? Well in 1979 BBC did a documentry and investigated a pair of psychic surgeons nammed Ddavid and helen Elizalde. Normally the tissue that is supposedly removed from the patient is disposed off immediately, but in this case sample the sample was recovered and tested. It was proved to be pigs blood. It is now generally assumed that most psychic surgery is actually slight of hand. The Surgeon uses pig blood to create a gory appearence, and manipulates fleshy parts of the body so that it looks as if his or her hand is inside the patient. The removed tissue is a fake. However, not all psychic surgeons have been unmasked in this way, and there are thousands of genuine reports of successful "operations" Source:KISS guides by Joel Levy Many people still beleive that this type of surgery is valid and that there are people who can perform this miraculous event Some beleive it to be a hoax ...What do you think?

I vaguely remember watching something pertaining to this on the tv when I was younger...I think you are correct in thinking that it would be primarily 3rd world countryies, however...I do think that people want to beleive that these things work...just the same way as accupuncture and what not....

I think there are some people out there who are so desperate to beleive in something anything, that when they see soemthing they can't explain themselves, they will believe someone elses explanaiton....I wouldnt call them gulliable, but lost to who they are.
I also remember watching on tv or reading, that this forum of "beleif" was big in the 70's... I can't remember which of them it was....

Also crazy groups like David Karesh. Although not all are "lost" Manson's bunch was smart and not like the normal.
