IT's last gasp really was the 80's. After 80's and early 90's rock has and pretty much is dead. To some degree it is. There are some good bands around but it's not like it use to be. So I'm going with 80's

you make a good point. Though I do agree that it isn't like it used to be, it still has the same idea. Its principal is to make music that socially ageeable to the population that believes music is their only voice in the world. Teenagers, and esentially the younger generation(s). Look at rock of the 70's and 80's and tell me that the general idea of all of that music isn't the statement teens wanted to get across at the time. Now look at todays teens and the angsty, selfloathing, "I hate my dad" "my moms a crack*#@&$" kind of music, and tell me it really isn't true. I mean, a lot of kids are really messed up because their parents are like that, and even if the artists that sing about it, never suffered from it, and claim they do, they are still appealing to target market, making kids feel they are heard, and though I like most of what out there now, and though I know its nothing like classic rock (which always will be best in my eyes) its still good because its still acheiving its main goal, of making teens feel that they finally have a voice. Thats what music has become now days, and if its achieved its goal, then it must be good, or at least doing some good. Get what I'm saying homes?
