As you know I have opened the boards for a month as a trial bases, and at first thought it to be a beneifit...but I have made a few observations...and I thought I would share them..
- first off, some of the members will visit the board but will no longer log in, as they can see them without doing so...and although it is a benefit to them, it doesn't reflect well on the EE as a whole....
- next, the new members have remained the same...as before they were open...so in that respect there has been no change.
- I see alot of copycats popping out of the wood works....this is I think my biggest concern....
I think that leaving them open takes away from the uniqness of the community...but that is me...but now that the baords have been open and you have witness the event yourself, what are your thoughts? Leave them open or closed them to members only?

Actually, I went ahead and closed them to guest viewong with the exception of a few only the non theme boards will remain open to guest viewing....It is apparent that the members prefer the boards to be a priveledge of member ship.

Well if you don't want copycats then I would have to say you do what you have to.

Well we tried to get more guests interested enough to become members by having all the boards open to view but it didn't seem to work so I think closing most of the boards is probably for the best. If peeps want to see whats going on in the EE they will have to become members, and hopefully the peeps who already are members will make the effort to sign in to view and maybe even post
