Norman Bates: Uh-uh, Mother-m-mother, uh, what is the phrase? She isn't quite herself today. The mother of all horror classics. Something that you would think wouldn't really happen....You know the dead mom up in the window thing.....well once again....the movies have it and skeptics don't. A mentally ill man continued to feed and care for his elderly parents after they had died, an inquest heard today. His father was badly decomposed when he was found dead in his chair and his mother was found wearing a personal stereo playing music. The son, who had mental problems, thought his parents were still alive. During the inquest, it was revealed that the mother had been admitted to the same psychiatric hospital in Poole suffering from delusions of impending doom and muteness in 1991. Full Article. I personally find this sad....and in a grotesque way endearing...but, I am really surprised that due to the family mental illness, that there wasn't any kind of government assistance.

This is just sad, I too am surprised this family were not being taken care of through the Social Services dept, but then again these government run agencies are rubbish, you have to fill out reels and reels of forms just to ask for help, there is no guarantee you'll receive any.

I know, I know....I think something is wrong with our society when things like this are allowed to happen. I think it is creapy, that it is so much like the Norma Bates scenerio...and think that although the movie was creapy and an occult classic, I can't help but wonder if the writer hadn't already heard of a simular case, and just put this into a more horride twist...because take away all the horro movie theatrics and predispotion, you cant help but think that it is sad....
