The European Space Agency (Esa) is seeking volunteers for a simulated human trip to Mars, in which six crew spend 17 months in an isolation tank. Once the hatches are closed, the crew's only contact with the outside world is a radio link to "Earth" with a realistic delay of many minutes. Full ArticleIt mentions the resemblence to a big brother scenerio, but highly doubts i will be televised. The only problem is the relevence to it. These volunteers are highly unlikely ever going to be able to compare the difference between scenerio and the real thing.

True, but I think this is more to see how humans would hold up in such a long journey. 17 months in orbit around the earth is one thing, but that same amount of time drifting farther and farther away from the planety could possible unleash unknown conditions about being so isolated.
