Shootings, riots, injuries, and profits of $2000.oo, media controversy....both systems have the gaming community buzzing....has anyone played with either of these systems, what did you think? Or have you bought one or recieved one?..which do you think will rise more victorious?

Personally, I hope to be getting a Wii for Christmas.
I will, first of all admit, that I'm a bit of a Nintendo fangirl.
But the idea of the Wiimote and the Nunchuk controller make me drool. Point and shoot? That means I can finally play FPS at home!
Besides, Wii has The Legend of Zelda: The Twlight Princess, something PS3 and XBox 360 will never have. (Unless someone does something super illegal.))
And don't forget, XBox 360 is also part of this generation even though it's been out for a year.

My son would like that because of the controllers as well...that seems to be the concensus....wii has the better controllers, but Nintendo has the better system.....my oh my...if they merged...you would have the perfect gaming unit...

Uh, Wii is from Nintendo. But not like I'll argue with you on Nintendo having the better system Sony does have the more powerful system, but I wouldn't say better. PS3 can do uber sweat calcuations so when you pause the basketball game you can see realistic sweat on the players, but in my opinion, why does that matter? Pausing the game to look at the sweat detail is not going to be my idea of fun past the first few times of playing it. I believe I heard that the Wii's graphics are beyond that of the original Xbox, but not on par with Xbox 360 or PS3. But that doesn't really matter to me that much. Gameplay is what's important, graphics are icing on the cake. I'm with Nintendo because their audience they're trying to make games for isn't this uber-1337 gamer group. They're marketing to everyone. Not just gamers, but lapsed gamers and even non-gamers. I'd love to get my mom to play some, enough that I have to hook the Wii up to the family TV, not just the one in my room. But Wii sin't going to just be some wussy system that can only play fairy-princess games. Red Steel looks awesome. It's the first FPS for the Wii, and it's Wii exclusive. (Did I mention I read the Nintendo Power at the bookstore today?) I have trouble with FPS on home consoles. Give me a half-an-hour of moving with one joystick, looking with the other, and somehow switching guns and shooting at the same time, and I'll wind up pretty dizzy. But, it at least sounds like I could handle Red Steel. Move with the joystick, point and shoot and look around with the Wiimote. Zoom in for a kill shot? Thrust the Wiimote. And don't forget the sword fighting. . .

I think they are equal in their own sense. The PS3 has the best graphics and hookups of it's kind and the Wii is entirely new. Until something similar to the Wii comes along to compare it with, then i think they are equal. Though the PS3 totally beats the XBox 360.

I've heard that the Wii is more of an interactive system than the PS3. You can't just sit on the couch and use the remote with the Wii, you literally have to get up and get into the game.

I belive the PS3 is better than the wii. the ps3 is practilly a computer. I have always been supportive over the ps3. when the x-box 360 came out I automaticly knew that they where gonna create the PS3.
the Wii is just somethin to keep nintindo going.

I think the Wii is better, without a doubt. Better price, company, games, controller, extras, downloads, everything. I really hope to get one for Christmas too.

The only thing that bothers me about this, (other than the fact that it gives people more of a reason to sit on the couch), is tha in a few years there will be some new gaming system out there that will outdo these new ones.
Where does it stop?

Where does it stop? where does it stop? it doesnt, its just like weapons. they keep makeing better and newer ones that are better than the one before that one.

Well, depending on the game you're playing, you might not be able to sit on the couch with the Wii.
And yeah, it probably won't ever end. But it'll be a few years. Decide what you want this generation and dive in.

I bought my Gamecube almost five years ago. It's been plenty of time, and now I'm ready for the Wii.
The only thing I hate about Wii...its name. Other than that, it's pretty much my dream system.
I don't want a PS3 or X-Box 360 (not a Sony fan, and I hate Microsoft) at all, so Wii is the only one I'm even looking at.

I have grown up with playstations so I know how good they are.

I could actually say the opposite, and then the same about Nintendo.

I already have a 360, for obvious reasons (Those Xboxs rule!) But I would go with a Wii, which is why I'm getting it for Christmas, I mean way cheaper, a far more innovative idea, loads of fun for any game you get...Just make sure the wristband doesnt break, causing your controller to fly into the TV...It's happened.
