"With men whom they have worked with, no they cannot fight worth anything," Izzy replied honestly. "Many of them are very kindhearted and it was hard for them to overlook things. Yet..." she paused and considered everything.
"I believe that they can fight those who are threatening them and those they like. I do not know if they have enough skill to defeat those that are coming, but I think that for the most part they are ready to defend each other and their own lives.
"I think, though, that if they are matched up with someone of great power and skill, it most likely won't work in their favor, but they might have a chance against someone of equal value or lesser if their emotions don't rule them."

"I don't need them to win, i just need them to be able to defend them selves long enough for me to find their leader and kill him..and then Che and my crew. nce I've got Insomnia's crew back, I'll be able to take them from behind. They'll be trapped on both sides nad will be forced to die or submit. after that we're out of here."

Izzy's hazel eyes widened. "You don't have a clue who you're dealing with do you?"
Frowning, she said, "There is a prophecy that is going to be fullfilled if we do not do something. Do you know of it? I promised not to divulge a word, but if you know of it, I suppose I can give you more information about those who threaten you."

"All I know is all three of my sisters have been kid-napped. Two, are once again dead this time with no way to bring them back. The third's life is in even more danger now, and they may just say she's more trouble than she's worth and kill her off too. I can't use my wings until they're recovered or avenged, and if I can't do that, the Briar Wings Of Rites will never again be seen. They'll die with me. Not to mention the fact that...and this may seem a bit cold...but I care less about the wings than I do my own crew. I want my damn crew back! I care not for prophicy, though maybe I should seeing as we were born into several, my sisters and I, but whatever."

"Profecy..." Izzy murmured. "Profecy took away my master, my mother, and my father. This profecy could take away my sister - it has already taken her husbnd - and it could take away you as well.
"I think profecy is something that you bring upon yourslf unless you act against it. I must act against this and keep it from happening or you will die and your kingdom will go asunder." She gripped her fist so blood trickled down her palms. "I will not let our countries suffer. We have built our bridge on the way to stopping the profecy. We have beome friends, our countries...I will not allow everything to fall apart. We will not move in the direction of Gosser and Tolomy! Never!"
She faced Sage. "The company that we will engage have special fighters of which we cannot beat with swords alone. You must keep your wits about you at all times, otherwise everything will be lost, not just your sisters. They will not die - they cannot die, but you must understand, there is a being that could destroy us all."

"My sisters were already dead once, they are dead again now. Alexia has spoken, and would not lie about suich things. Che still lives. THis I can fel in my very marrow, but that doesn't matter. Tell me what you know abut my sister's adn crew's captors. I have a right to know all. And if you don't so help me, i'm not above tossing you into the sea for your insubordination."

Izzy narrowed her eyes. She was considerably taller than her sister and stood only slightly under Sage's height, making it easy for her to lock eyes nad keep Sage's gaze.
"I cannot commit insubordination against someone who isn't my supperior," she repsonded firmly. "But I will say this. You are about to face the Laymeirds, which go by another name in many countries, I have no idea what you people call them."
She had her hand on the hilt of her sword, though it was aparent she had no inteiton to draw it nor had any other malicious intentions, it was just a subconscious habit of hers when angry, threatened, ect...
"They can take the form of whatever they want. They can anhilate entire vessels with one swoop. How do you think I got to you? We were attacked by them!"

*Sage indicated to the three mates to stand in front of the door. Nodding her head at the seat in front of the desk she spoke.*
"You had better sit down and tell me the whole story I think. And before you begin, if you're about MY ship, you are a subordinate becasue you hold only what power I give you leave to have. We may be equal in royal rank, but on this ship, tis my say and none else's that is law. You know somehting about these men that I don't. I will not needlessly risk the live of those innocent crew memebers if I can help it. I deserve to know, and they deserve to know exactly what they are getting into. With circumstances changing, I'm not going to make them go into battle. after you tell me what you will, I'll go to them, I'll explain, and thoes who wish not to fight won't have to."
*Her quick mind was already forming new plans to advoide battle for thoes men who woulnd't want to fight.*
"Now sit and explain yourself."

Izzy locked eyes and seemed to deliberate if she really wanted to follow orders. She HATED being controled in any form, but considering everything and the fact her sister could be pretty damn scarry if she found out about this, Izzy decided to sit and be some form of a good girl.
"Okay, this is what's happening. Years ago there was a race of humanoids named the Dzngya from the highlands of the southern plateaus. These people had been lost for centuries and evolved on their own in their place landlocked by desert.
"Several men of the southern grain feilds discovered them. They brought them to the king of the southern land who promptly gave them over to his scientists. They king was fascinated by such things and viewed them as specimins rather than people.
"After years of experimentation and analysis, they managed to manipulate the evolution of the humanoids of the plateaus and created the Laymeirds. The Laymeirids are creatures of hierarchy. First there are the Bearded Laymeirds. They control the power of the doppleganer and can change at will, but they are doomed to stay in whatever form they take for twelve hours.
"The second form is the Bare Laymeird. These always wear the hides of those they killed like human suits. They have the power to burn at will, almost like tanning the body before they kill the person.
"Then there are the thrid forms. These are known as the Button Laymeirds. They are short and stout, almost pig-like. No one is really sure what they do.
"There are four other known forms, however, I don't have much more data than this. I ran across some that were adapt to swimming int he water. They were more concerned with those that looked like threats so I was albe to slip away since I was a damsel at the time." Her face betrayed her distaste for the dress and the entire events of the ship.
"I don't know how to stop them, but they managed to topple the liner and kill everyone but five of us in the space of roughly ten minutes. Provided, of course, we had no swordsmen and it was a pleasure liner."

*Sages face was unreadable, set in stone, not even ehr eyes gave away what she thought or felt.*
"Which kind will we be facing?"

"I honestly don't know. The only ones I saw were ones I had never heard described. They were of the water, but I heard screams that sounded like those accompanied with the hiding from the second forms.
"My best guess is to be prepared for anything. It's like that one children's tale come alive about the humanoids who wish for a better place. All of them had henious powers like these yet they were good people.
"The creatures I saw, however, were not people in the least. Their extermities look similar to ours, but that's about where the simularities end. I don't knwo what they did to make something that looked so human look so...I don't know...wrong? It's baffling.
"All I know is how quickly it took out a bunch of ordinary people and five guardsmen. I don't know how long we all would have."

"Well its a good thing I'm not normal. And I'd got a goddes of death as a close, personal friend....I thank you for telling me this information. I'm sorry i had to be so rash with you, but you are a lot like your big sister,a dn I knew it was the only way you would talk. Is there anything more you can or should tell me before I address the crew?"

Izzy shook her head. "No, I haven't had time to really think about what I saw. All I can tell you is what I knew going into this and the bits of information I collected during my travels."
Wrinkling her nose she made a face. "Like Aki? Nah, we aren't the same. She's more respectful than I am, and she a shortie." Izzy let a smirk fly on her face, but it soon disappeared replaced by a serious countenance. "I think that's all I know."

*Sage who had stod the entire time of the interview moved around the desk, placed both of her hands on Izzy's arm rests and looked the younger girl in the eye.*
"You are her sister, I can see it in that firery look in your eyes. You will stp at noghint to save you homeland, your loved ones, and all you care about. Are both hard determined stroung women. You are more liek your sister that you think."
*she then went to the deck to address the crew.*

Izzy glanced after her and then snorted. Whatever Sage wanted to think.
Following her out to the deck, Izzy put a stick in her mouth and leaned against a barrell as she watched Sage address everyone. This was going to be a long fight. She didn't want to lose this ship as well. She had screwed up once, and she wasn't going to screw up again.
Clearing her mind, she held the stick in her fingers as she used relaxation techniques. A clear mind would help her prevail. She was not going to throw her life away for this. She would win.
