A crush being settled upon Drake's heart, killing time, just by watching Tuula blossom to a young woman, a feeling Drake had, something new and different then ever before. His head grew tight at the sight of her, emotions became dawned, his heart raced, as his lungs gasped for air; eventually his face grew a color, a light shade of pink kissed upon his cheeks. His hand moved freely, and endlessly across thousands of pages, many notebooks became filled with her name, 'Tuula', his hand writing beautiful when writing her name, his mind becoming distracted.
Drake wandered into the forest by the lake everyday, to see the young woman relax under the old sun burned trees. The gods had blessed her with a fine kiss of beauty, no boy could resist her, but nobody knew who she was. Drake still has never come up with the courage to talk to her yet. Still for hours a day, Drake hid behind a tree, and watched the young woman, learning only little about her, but still having awkward feelings toward Tuula.
As time passed, Tuula still lay under the old sun burned trees, upon a ridge, near a small running stream everyday, for hours a day; Drake continued to watch her, always finding the time too, even as his studies became harder. His father, Nicholas Flammel, expected more out of Drake, and tried to get him to stop going in the forest. There were stories about the forest, stories of young men and woman walking in the forest, and coming back twenty years later, looking exactly like they were at their departure. The forest was alive, but little did Drake know that. Forest protected her people, and guided her people, if she wanted one person, she could take them without effort.
Life goes on, streams flow into the rivers; rivers move on to the open sea, life goes on. Seconds grow on you, they become minutes, minutes evolve into hours, hours become days, days merge into weeks, weeks become months. The seasons changed, from the frozen waters falling from the sky, to the light March winds, watching the flowers blossom, as he watched his love blossom. A year had passed, since Drake had become a teenager, now verging in his fourteenth year, Drake continued to watch his heart's desire day to day, for hours at a time.
Days are growing older, time is becoming faster. Opinions of one changes, knowledge grows. Life gets older. Experience is gained. Studies for Drake had become harder, more challenging, but he still found time for his crush, watching her grow older by the day, still relaxing under the sun burned trees. A young woman of beauty is what she is becoming; a goddess is what she is. Still, day by day, Drake continued to watch Tuula rest, until one day, she was not there. Drake wandered where she was that day. He wandered off to the ridge, under the sun burned trees, and sat down, wondering where the love of his life lies. Drake laid back his hands over his eyes, out of distress, and shielding them from the bright sun, that cursed these trees of their original beauty, but made it more beautiful to the eye.
He felt a light tap on his shoulder, but Drake did not look, he thought it was just a mouse, or a leaf landing. The tap grew a bit harder the next time, and a sweet voice spoke, "Hello." It was a voice full of beauty, a sweet voice, one Drake will never forget. His hands lowered, as his head turned, to see a face of beauty, the one he loved, his crush with a kiss of beauty from the Gods.
Drake sat up looking at her, growing nervous, smiling weakly, "Hi..." he responded in a voice, half choking himself to death. Drake's heart raced, and almost jumped up his throat, it was a dream, and it cannot be real. Drake blinked quickly, not sure what to say to this one, (What would a cool fourteen year old say to a girl he likes?) Drake asked himself in his mind, staring back at the one he is willing to jump off a cliff for.
Tuula simply smiled, and stared at the boy, her light laugh full of warmth, as she looked at the sweat on Drake's brow, him becoming nervous, and wondering. "I'm Tuula," she spoke softly, sitting down next to the boy. "Who are you?" she asked, her head following a riddle, looking at Drake's face, as his head faced her, he was still nervous. A breeze swept the forest, gently touching the two young teens, sitting on the rock ridge, near running water, a small stream of beauty and clear water. Tuula's light white glowing dress shifted within the wind, brushing against Drake's left leg stretched out before him, and his right leg in an arch.
A small smile grew on Drake's face, a smirk what is was. "I know, I just heard your name a while back." he spoke, remembering his mind, screamed her name. It was a weak power, it made Drake collapse every time he received information from another person through their mind. He did not understand this strange power yet, but he is living with it, in a sworn secrecy to himself. "I'm Drake." Drake replied softly, gazing upon Tuula, and calming down a bit, his heart starting to settle, and a hand rose to his brow to wipe the sweat off.
