Mel Gibson attended a screening of his new film APOCALYPTO in Oklahoma disguised in a mask and wig, in an attempt to blend in with the audience and avoid members of the press.
The following day, when the movie screened at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, the 50-year-old actor-director compared the war in Iraq to the destruction of the Mayan civilization depicted in his new film.
"The precursors to a civilization that's going under are the same, time and time again," Gibson said at the festival, which is devoted to new science fiction, horror and fantasy films. "What's human sacrifice if not sending guys off to Iraq for no reason?"

Why do you say that? There are other guys that do odd things with films and how they shoot there films. Look at Terrence Mallack. Probably never heard of the guy. But, he's not exactly my cup of tea but can't say he can't shoot a film.
Mallack did Thin Red Line and The New World and a few other films.
