Darn! I wish I had seen this thread earlier. People react differently when they're quitting. MY hubby was like you, didn't bother him at all. But me...hehhe that's a different story. I could only do it when school started back because, well, ever see that Nicotine commercial with the stewadess?? That was me.

My mom's ex b/f he just used the gum. Basically got off the smoke but for 7-9 years had the gum. It's socially okay and well better then the smoking its self. It's kinda messed up.
My ex g/f stoped. She just stoped cold turkey. Knew I didn't like her doing it. Plus was and am allergic to it.

Oh yeah, big time. I worked in a restaurant for 10 years where I had to shout in my orders and you had to be pretty loud to have yourself heard over th grill and the dishwasher. Trust me when I say, I can yell. Mind you, like the commercial says, that's when I was trying do quit cold turkey. When I quit for good I used the gum. Calmed me down ALOT[/b].

So have you quit for good or have you started back up?
My grandfather says he wants to stop but 5 minutes later he lights up another one and then I said to him," those things are gonna be the death of you," and he gave me an evil look and I left and went to talk to my grandma.

My dad was never too mean when he quit. But he did make me promise not to tell anyone about the times that he would cheat. He doesn't do that anymore tho.

I am proud to say that my one year aniversary was last November 1 2006. So I've been smoke free for almost 14 months. Hubby's two year aniversary was January 1 2007.
Now I just have to lose the weight I gained quitting. *cries*

So it is true that you smoke you dont gain as much weight as if you where to stop? How is that? My grandpa always gets mad at me when I say to him," you know those are gonna kill you, and your paying for it." Just to think of it. You would be paying for a slow death. That sucks. Well Im gonna stop babbling about me and all, for now.
