If time travel was possiable and someone was able to go back in time and change one event, would it shift the timeline to an alternate time line or would it continue to remain on the same timeline?

Lol, everything I learned on quantum physics and temperal mechanics I learned from Star Trek. Paradoxes make my brain hurt.....
But I would think that the time line would change, especially if what the person changed was a major event. Say, assasinating Hitler.

It wouldnt change, since the change you made would instantaneously create a new timeline that has always been ever since the point you made the change and after it.

Time travel is just a theory so it would be hard for anyone to give you a answer that would be correct.

No it WOULD change but cos we exist after the change happened we wouldnt know it had changed, only the person who went back in time and messed with the time line would know and who would believe them?.

I liked that movie, I quite like Van Dam and his kick boxing movies, he's still pretty good with his feet even now.

Where would you go if it was possible to travel through time? I'd be tempted to travel back to some important event like the assassination of JFK and try and either stop it or failing thats look to the grassy knoll to see if there really was a second gun man.
