If there is a technology of our generation folks, this is it. Nonopunk, like Nanotechnology, from which it takes its name, is still in its infancy. Nanotechnology is the science that deals with the study and manipulation of molecular and atomic particles. It is the science of the small. Nano is Greek for dwarf and a Nanometer is equal to one millionth of a millimeter. The real mind-blowing idea coming out of Nanotechnology is that if we can figure out a way to move around atoms and molecules, which are the building blocks of all matter as we know it, we can essentially change and manipulate, well, everything (including living organisms like ourselves). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think this image, along with space travel and aliens, are what most people think of when they hear the word Science Fiction. Especially for my generation and those that follow, these are the most common forms we can relate to.
